Welcome to South Broadway BID of The City of Yonkers

Dennis Monasebian, Chairman is committed to working with the local vendors and businesses to create a robust business district.

South Broadway is known as an international mix of authentic ethnic cuisine, family businesses, independent, national and international retailers, and a family-friendly mix of old and new services. The South Broadway Business Improvement District (SSBID), first established in 2001 as the South Broadway Merchants Association, proudly serves the business and property owners, residents and customers of Yonkers’ busiest neighborhood shopping area.

The SSBID continues to improve on-street aesthetics, safety, code enforcement, customer attraction and district marketing. Partnering with the City of Yonkers (COY), the SSBID has been able to develop programs such as our Rangers Clean Team, and, along with the Yonkers Police Department (YPD), our dedicated on- street patrolman. About Our Municipal

The Board of Directors of the BID is comprised of seven property owners (Class A) and two tenants with commercial leases (Class B) in the downtown Yonkers geographic area defined in the establishing legislation. These members are elected by a vote of their respective class every two years at the Annual Meeting. Also on the board are one resident (Class C) and three ex officio members (the Mayor, the Chief Financial Officer of the City and the Council person in whose district the BID properties lie) (Class D).

Ranger Clean Team

The South Broadway BID Ranger Clean Team works all year round to help maintain the look of the district and the friendliness of this bustling neighborhood retail corridor. In every type of weather—rain, sleet, snow and heat– the members of our South Broadway BID Ranger Clean Team are out on South Broadway making sure that both sides of our vibrant main street and side streets are as litter-free as possible so our merchants, customers, families, visitors and property owners can enjoy the district. The team works from Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 4 PM and on Saturday from 8AM to 11AM. Our Crew Chief is stationed at Lincoln Park on South Broadway at McLean Avenue Monday through Friday from 8AM-4PM. Our BID Ranger Clean Team work in two shifts—Morning and Afternoon—to ensure that both sides of this busy main street are litter-free. Our team is known to all of our merchants—and are appreciated by them and the community here in Southwest Yonkers.
