Department of Planning & Development

The City of Yonkers Department of Planning & Development consists of the offices of Community Development, Economic Development, Planning and Downtown and Waterfront. It is the Planning and Development Department’s responsibility to support the promotion and coordination of development activities within the City.

Mayor Mike Spano is committed to making Yonkers a leader in sustainability. Over the last two years, working alongside the New York State Power Authority and other partners, Yonkers has launched one of the most ambitious and comprehensive energy plans of any city in the state – Yonkers Green City.
